A potpourri of colourful, insightful and diverse dancers and musicians present at the Nava Swara (an emergence of fresh expression, the blossoming of young talent, and the continuity of tradition through renewal)
Naungan Malaysia makes waves in Malaysia and abroad, with their unique blend of Malaysianism – playing popular melodies, arranged using ethnic instruments such as the Chinese Ruan and Guzheng, the Malay Rebana, the Indian sitar and tabla, the Sarawakian Sape, and other percussive elements.
Transport yourselves back to the era of the Emperor Ashoka and his nemesis, Kalinga Maharaj in ancient Odisha with the mesmerising TFA dancers in Odissi Odyssey.
The grace and stylised work of the legendary Pandit Birju Maharaj shines bright and right here in Malaysia, through the next generation dancers of TFA, as Rohini Shetty presents a solo entitled Ekatvam Anugraha.
Wong Chi Ying impresses with her spontaneity and creativity, weaving an intricate story through her presentation of Breathing Doubt.

A connoisseur’s journey that brings in Shanghai, travels to Malaysia and culminates in India.
Sitar in Shanghai is a presentation of a sitar artist who visits China and assimilates and absorbs himself into the Chinese musical culture. Revisiting themes from TFA’s past productions of Butterfly Lovers and Lady White Snake, this segment explores the intermingling of sitar sounds with the Chinese Guzheng, Erhu, Ruan, Dizi and percussions.
A fiery exchange is to be expected when expert Indian percussions battle it out on stage – expect nothing less with this rhythm-centric presentation by TFA’s Tala Vadyam Rhythm Ensemble
Renowned for revisiting and reigniting classical Malay works, ASK Dance Company promises the finest in flair and finesse with its own version of Joget Gamelan Setanggi, choreographed by Mohd. Zulkarnain, and a more modern work – Is this seat taken?
