Bollywood dance is the dance-form used in the Indian films. It is a mixture of numerous styles. These styles include belly-dancing, Kathak, Indian folk, Western popular, and “modern”, jazz, and even Western dancing. Let Bawani Shetty help you get in touch with your inner Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in this workshop!

Biography of Speaker

Bawani Shetty’s dance journey at the Temple of Fine Arts commenced in the year 1987. Blessed with innate talents and being passionate about dance has made her to ease in with the various dance styles taught at the Temple of Fine Arts from the outset. 3 decades on, Bawani is a choreographer, performer and teacher at the Temple of Fine Arts.

Bawani has performed in pivotal roles in all Temple of Fine Arts productions. Her commanding and stunning stage presence kept the audience awe inspired transporting them to a new glorious realm of being.

Her repertoire of study and experience spans from Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kathak, Folk dances and Bollywood. In 2012 she attended a folk dance workshop that was offered by the Chandigarh University in Punjab and began specializing in folk dances. Being a versatile and adept artist has enabled her to achieve great heights in performance quality. Her drive, zest and commitment to the activities of the institution and fulfilling her duties and responsibilities as a Bollywood and Folk dance instructor knows no bounds.
